An entire weekend at home

My sister thinks that I am one of her dolls. She is constantly dressing me up to play with her. It gets annoying, but I really like the sunglasses.
When Mom makes me play on the floor, Mabry usually will play with me. She likes to hug me and roll me over a lot. She didn't like it as much when I played the "pull her hair" game.

Yes, that's me--a little guy with a big guy cup. We are learning to drink from a sippy cup and want to get rid of the bottle.

I love my jumper although it looks like I don't know what to do in it right now. Also, you would think that for a kid who doesn't really like a pacifier, I wouldn't cry when it is taken away.

This is what I do during my baths. I have so much fun getting as much water as possible all over the floors that Mom just cleaned.

the first 5 and 6 year old girls softball game in north MS history!!

tuesday night, Mabry played in her first softball game--that's right, softball not t-ball. Mabry is a proud member of the South Reporter Sluggers with her friends, Mallory, Lindsey, Peyton, Anushka, Erin, Jakayla, Kaila, Kara, and Jordan. the girls did fabulously for their first attempt at playing a real game. The final score was 4 to 3 with Potts Camp taking the win. It was a great game though. Mabry did not get a hit and is an outfielder, but she had such a great time. the girls were great sports, cheering on their teammates and paying attention to the coaches. guy even said that he had fun. he also said that these girls managed to get more hits in one game than his boys varsity team did in an entire season. We play again Tuesday against either Potts Camp or Byhalia.

mabry is also expecting yet another visit from the Tooth Fairy. She has now lost seven of her teeth. She is so excited and wants to write the Tooth Fairy a note and ask for 11 quarters. Inflation has set in to the smallest parts of the economy, hasn't it?

Gabe is doing about the same as always. He feels better after his antibiotics for his ear infection. He loves being outside and watching his sister and her friends at softball. He is laughing a lot lately and is trying to sit up by himself. He does a pretty good job for about 5 seconds, then he just topples over.

Gabe's four month check up at 5 months

Gabe went to the doc for his check up yesterday. He weighs 15 lbs and is 27 inches long!! So he is tall and skinny. He is otherwise healthy except for a slight ear infection which antibiotics should clear right up. The ear infection explains the four hour screaming fit we had Monday night. Gabe got his three shots and didn't scream nearly as loud this time. he did start crying as soon as Dr. Dennis walked out and Melinda walked in. I guess he has a long term memory of pain associated with her. Anyway, after the visit, we got to see Mama Cynthia briefly. It was really pleasant and today will be exhausting since we were home so late.

Latest news abut toys and plays

If we get home before five o'clock, we go for a family walk (not with Guy, he has baseball practice). I push Gabe in his stroller and walk the dog, and Mabry takes a doll in a backpack carrier (she's too tall for her strollers). Mabry inevitably gets tired of carrying her doll at some point, so it winds up in the stroller with Gabe. this is Gabe after Mabry gave him one of her dolls. He's wondering if it is good enough to chew on.

this is Gabe after deciding that while he likes to chew, dolls might not be his thing.
Mabry dressed in her costume for "Beauty and the Beast." Mabry and the rest of the 4 and 5Kers were the salt and pepper shakers. Those of you who are not here, you should know that every year, Mr. Chris, the music teacher, undertakes the school play and musical. he involves all elementary children and the high school Patriot Performers. this year, "Beauty and the Beast" was fabulous. The elementary kids were adorable, well behaved, and fantastic. The star of the show though was Bridget Stone's son, Cooper. Cooper played Lumeire (sp?) the candleabra with a great French accent. If you know Cooper, he is generally a quiet kid. He was the exact opposite on stage and it was AWESOME!! Claire Liddy played Belle and her singing was perfectly spot on. The rest of the cast was great too! We can't wait to see what's next. Mabry had a blast and got to go spend the night with a friend after Friday's performance since Gabe behaved well on Thursday, but another performance would probably have pushed it.
Yesterday, mabry had her first softball practice. She is on a team with her fellow girl scouts, Erin, Mallory and Jordan. There are also several girls to make friends with that she doesn't know. Mabry spent most of the time playing in the dirt, but hustles after the ball when told. We have to work on her throwing, but she was getting better towards the end. Her batting leaves a lot to be desired, but for her first time holding a bat, she hit two pitches. Next practice is thursday. If we can get a bat for her before then, Guy plans to work with her on the tee that he has for his baseball players.
Tomorrow, we go for Gabe's four month doctor appointment, even though he will be five months old. I can't wait to see how big he is, but am dreading the shots. we are going to stop at Godmama Cyn's house after so that we can eat without screaming the entire way home after the appointment for a little visit. Wish us luck!
