Gabe's newest fascination

So Gabe loves his new activity bouncer. He discovered the joy of toys during the past two weeks. He is into grabbing and shaking and putting EVERYTHING into his mouth. He has discovered that he can make things move. He is also demanding what he wants when he wants it. We enjoyed a wonderful Easter at the lake with my parents. mabry received more basket goodies than a child deserves, but she is willing to share with everyone. It seems that she is ready to go back to school. Too bad she only has a three day week since she has ABC testing on Thursday, which means no school. Mabry's musical debut in Beauty and the Beast will be on Friday, April 3rd and Saturday, April 4th at the MA gym. She and the rest of the 5K class will all be salt and pepper shakers. Wish them luck and come see them perform!! Guy's Aunt Ellen sent Mabry and Gabe a huge package with blankets, burp cloths, books, picture frames and dolls in it. Thanks so much.

We picked up Riley from doggie jail today to some bad news. Riley got a mild case of some type of worms. Yuck!!! She is now on some type of deworming medicine. She is also allergic to fleas and must be bathed for them weekly. She is also losing lean muscle mass and has to have a daily one mile walk. None of this is horrible, but the fact that we paid the vet as much as we did is. Riley, Gabe, Mabry, her babydoll, and myself have already enjoyed our walk. We hope guy enjoys the bath and giving Riley her medicine. (I think we got the better end of the deal)

Just so everyone knows, Guy and I had Friday and today off of work. Guess where he is today and was on Friday? Work!! He and the other coaches have put in lots of time getting the baseball field ready and in a lot better shape than it was. Hopefully, attendance will increase to games and Guy's team will play a little better. Next game is tomorrow!!

No pictures this time, just extremely sad news. Mabry's schoolmate, Bradley, who has been battling leukemia for the past couple of years, passed away yesterday. I have never seen a community or school come together so well to rally around a particular family. While we do not know this family personally, his story and his family's plight has touched everyone in our family's heart. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time.

Camping during Spring Break

Ethan, Ellen, Louise, and David brought the camper to Wall Doxey to "camp" for a couple of days. mabry loves seeing her cousin, Ethan. both Ethan and Mabry loved the park. Gabe liked being outside, but I think enjoyed the campfire and roasting marshmallows the most. Ethan liked to set the marshmallows on fire, but wouldn't actually eat them. Of course, Mabry still has yet to meet a food she doesn't like. After last night, I think we need to look into sleep away camp.
We went to the awesome playground at Wall Doxey where David had to show off his climbing skills. Thank goodness we were only 12 miles from the nearest hospital just in case.

Mabry and Ethan on their way to the playground with Drano following.

Southern snow--6 inches and beautiful. gone 6 hours later.

can you tell the deer wandered through looking for food?

It's a Baby Boom!!!

We are so excited that another set of friends is going to have a baby soon!! Congratualtions to Denny and Anne Marie!! this the fifth baby that will be coming between April and September!! We are so excited that Gabe is going to have so many friends near his age. We only wish that all the babies lived nearby so that Mabry could practice her babysitting skills on them all. Jeff and Tracy are due in about 8 weeks. Chris and Jolene are due in about 6 weeks. Joe and Shawna and Wallace and Shannon are due in August and now Denny and Anne Marie. All of you soon-to-be parents take care of yourselves and the little ones!!

Daisy induction and welcome wiggles!!

The friendship circle of the Girl Scouts. Look at how cute Kaylee's boots are!!
Mabry was so excited to be inducted and receive her certificate acknowledging the beginning of Daisy Scouts. She also received her first badge for Christmas caroling. Since they have Scouts tomorrow, I have to find the time to iron the badge on her tunic. Mabry is supposed to earn two more petals tomorrow. I know she can't wait.

this little boy has a problem with throwing huge, knock-down, drag out fits!! He doesn't like to sleep during the day which makes him extremely grumpy. Instead, he cat naps when he absolutely cannot help it. He also throws fits if it is time for him to eat and you don't make his food fast enough for him. Miss Gail, the sitter, discovered last week that he likes the Wiggles. Put on an episode and the fit automatically stops. He watches raptly and dances to the music. We also discovered this weekend that Gabe likes the Teletubbies too and will hold a conversation with them for the entire episode. Yes, I am the bad parent that lets their infants watch tv. What can you do when you have a family to keep going? By the way, new foods that Gabe ate this week and liked: prunes, sweet potatoes, and squash!! This week, we take on peas, green beans and carrots so that after spring break we can start stage 2 foods!!! Gabe has also been trying to roll over with very limited success. I think that he will just get up one day and crawl without doing any of the other preliminary stuff. He's content to let us haul him around.
